Accredited as the most prestigious awards in the hospitality industry, the Australian Hotels Association National Awards for Excellence both recognises and rewards excellence across a variety of segments. As State winners of the same category at the 2018 Queensland Hotel Association Awards for Excellence, we now move up the ranks to take on the countries best, with representatives from around Australia competing for the top prize!
2017 saw the Osbourne Hotel, formerly known as Fringe Bar and Kerbside, undergo a multi-million dollar makeover to restore the building to its original roots as a pub for the locals, and its namesake in a nod to its original owner, Charles Osbourne. The Osbourne Hotel in Fortitude Valley has become an exciting oasis where patrons can enjoy craft beer throughout our venue whether it be inside in our art-deco bar, outside, amongst the lush greenery and unique curved copper beer fonts or upstairs in our cocktail bar, overlooking Ann Street.
Quickly becoming an events hub with collaborative beer and wine dinners, cocktail festivals and musical acts gracing the hotel’s weekly agenda, word of the Osbourne Hotel’s unique offering has spread nationwide, with a plethora of nominations from industry bodies.
2018 saw the Australian Liquor Industry Awards (ALIA) rank the Osbourne Hotel as finalists for awards in a number of categories such as Best New Venue, Publican of the Year (Brian Fitzgibbons) and the crème de la crème, of Hotel of the Year. More so, the Osbourne Hotel was also nominated as a finalist in the category of New Pub of the Year in the 2018 Bartender Magazine Australian Bar Awards.
This time, going up against the country’s best venues, the competition will be tight but hopefully we will take home a win! Wish us luck, as we strive to become Australia’s Best Redeveloped Hotel of 2019.
