With an astounding line-up of events throughout winter, the Osbourne Hotel is bringing out the best Shiraz in the business alongside a bevy of dinners and tastings for a season of Shiraz appreciation.
 
Slowly work your way through our curated list of fifteen Shiraz Finalists, with the notion to vote for your favourites. At the end of the events, your votes will be tallied to reveal the winner at the ‘Shiraz Showdown’ full day event on August 5th.

When you think Steak, you think red wine. And when you think red wine, you think Pepperjack Shiraz. Just as different steak cuts have different flavour, texture and appeal – so do different Shiraz wines.

Growing up in the Barossa Valley, and being where he still resides with his family today, Pepperjack Winemaker Richard Mattner has the Barossa pumping through his veins.

Get your taste of the Barossa matched with a four-course dining experience at the Osbourne with Richard Mattner, where he will present his wines alongside perfectly crafted dishes by Head Chef, Ben King.

Matched with a perfectly cooked steak will be the Pepperjack Graded Collection, showcasing two different styles of Shiraz, created by Richard to perfectly match two of his favourite cuts of steak: Scotch Fillet and Porterhouse.

First course
Beef carpaccio w pepper jack Shiraz vincotto seeded mustard, micro herb salad, capers, golden eshallot
 
Second course
Scotch fillet, carrot purée, seeds and grains, tendril, thyme jus
 
Third course
Porterhouse w truffle cauliflower smear, charred asparagus, cafe de Paris butter, confit garlic.
 
Fourth course
Cave aged cheddar, muscatels, local honeycomb, lavosh, table grapes.
